Would you tolerate a film glorifying Hitler ?

After the amazing success of Slumdog Millionaire, Bollywood seems to have found a new romance in Hollywood.

UCLA and Yale graduate of Indian origin, Hollywood and Broadway acclaimed filmmaker Krishna Shah has recently announced an enormous epic that would be made in collaboration with the two largest film industries of the world: a sixty five million dollar film that Shah claims will be the realization of his life-long dream ... one that he has been working on for the last two decades. On the line and scale of Lord Attenborough's Gandhi, he claims.

Lo! He enters Manhood

My ruminations on Oct 19th - The birthday of my child.

My child:
You have carried my fragile heart
In your hands
Since they were so tiny;
Honored the trust and responsibility
I have placed on your shoulders
Since they were so slender;
I hope you know that,
Like a rock, I'll be there
For you to stand on.
Till there is breath
And with each breath will be
My eternal prayer:
"The Guru be with you"
Always and forever...

Happy 16th birthday!

Of all the people at the Centre I had met, I had connected with him the most. Perhaps because he was a repeat. Perhaps, because I had successfully negotiated a huge redemption from him. He had promised me that, to every extent possible, he would undo his wrong-doings. We spent a good 3 hours talking ... and not a day has passed by since then that I don't think of Mahinder and his promise.........

Our Fig Tree - On Earth Day 2009

The birds have built a nest on it.
A drama unfolds every morning when I go to collect the ripe mauve figs.
"It's our food, what are you doing there?" they appear to complain.
"There is plenty of food for the both of us," I assure them.
The juicy sweet figs with soft creamy flesh and crunchy seeds ... pure nectar! They simply melt in my mouth. I wouldn't trade them for any processed breakfast in the world.
The birds wouldn't either. They probably have a few young ones in the nest at the top of the canopy, the very ones they are trying to protect. As soon as I open the kitchen door in the morning, they start signaling each other, circling around the tree, screaming, hoping I will go away.
I can't help but smile....
